Dear friends of djummi records,
A promise is a promise! The Remedies keep their word and release their last album! However, 22 years had to pass between the announcement and the release. But let’s not be so petty! Some paths are just long and winding roads.
As far as the music on ‘Magnetic Boots’ is concerned, the wait was definitely worth it. Those lucky enough to know The Remedies from before they split up in 2003 will remember their charming sound somewhere between pop, blues rock and indie. The band has further refined this sound on the follow-up to ‘Candles and Beer’, their first album from 1998, and captured it even more authentically, which is probably due to the fact that this time they produced the entire album themselves.
‘Magnetic Boots’ is a real treasure, brought out of obscurity and mighty heavy: 15 timeless hits from ballads to rock numbers can be found on this long player. Well, they just thought bigger back then. I hope you enjoy listening!
(Oh, and how I would have loved to see the guys play live…)
