Dear friends of djummi records,
Music takes time. And it can sometimes be years before music ideas mature into finished songs and these into an album. This also happened with the solo pieces by the Dresden musician David Friedemann, who, in addition to his activities as a drummer in various Dresden bands (Planet9, ne:o, menkenkes), has always written lyrics and worked on his own music since the late 1990s. The desire to finally publish these very personal works, which had been kept secret for a long time, grew in the spring of 2021. The desire had only just been expressed when David got down to work together with the singer Friederike Pilz and myself, to develop a little long player from a selection of 8 wonderful tracks written in the early 10s during a few intensive months of music.
Finally, our little trio is now presenting the album “IN RUHE AUSRASTEN” under the name NAD LABEM. A piece of really unusual music was created here. Get ready for bulky but danceable beats, forgiving synth sounds and poetic German lyrics.
